Twelve Months in Spain

Welcome to Twelve Months in Spain!

Wander through Spain’s culture, history and food, in intermediate Spanish.

Each episode takes you off the tourist trail to explore a tradition, a dish, a town or a hidden corner of Spain. I speak slowly and clearly, in natural Castilian Spanish, so you can follow every word without simplified grammar.

Who is this podcast for?

I created this podcast for my students, and for people like you: a lover of the Spanish language, curious about Spain, and perhaps looking for an authentic sense of what the country is really like today.

It’s made for intermediate learners who want more than textbook dialogues. Are you stuck at the infamous B1 level? I’ve got you covered.

Here you’ll listen to slowly read articles written with you in mind, because I know all too well what it’s like to study a language and not be able to understand the real thing at natural speed. It's just takes practice training your ear!

Meet your host!

My name is Noemí and I’ve been creating Spanish-learning content for more than 20 years, so I know exactly which vocabulary, grammar, expressions and topics belong at each level.

Every script is lovingly crafted with that in mind.

I also care deeply about content. Spain is often misunderstood or misinterpreted, so I’ll take you by the hand and show you my Spain: the country where I was born and grew up, where adventures, great people and incredible experiences happen.

If you want to learn or practise Spanish from Spain, and discover its culture along the way... come with me on this journey.

Things happen in Spain. Life happens in Spain. And I’m about to show you.
